This site is dedicated to the PRR steam locomotives.
Welcome to my Web Site. I choose Mrdek to host my site because they offered enough space to build this site at
a very reasonable cost. Please check the ads and if you see anything of interest to you, click on it. The ads are
what pays the bills for this site.
I have tried to keep the site simple, easy to use and easy to read. There is NO JAVA (except for the counters and
my contact page) or anything else here. The only FRAME is if you got here by way of www.trak.to/prrsteam. Just a
lot of pretty pictures and simple HTML with no fancy color switching and no distracting background.
My name is Roy and I have worked on and with computers since 1972 and have had a computer at home since 1976.
I now live in southern CA but I was raised in western PA, in a very small town with the PRR main line, New York,
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh. Chicago and points west, running through the middle of town.
That and my father working for the PRR started my interest in trains and the PRR. I remember him taking me with him on Saturday when he was working overtime, I was 9 to 11 years old at that time.
That was in the last days of the steam engines, just before the were replaced. I won't even say by what. You know that, so why rub salt into an open wound?
But because this is MY site, I will put up a few of those monster now and then. In fact I will make one a permanent part of the site accessible from this page ONLY,

Email addresses included on the pages are clickable BUT the Spam Spiders can't read them either.
Before I was able to hide my email address I was getting over 55 emails a day with about 52 being Spam. The day after hidding my address it dropped to less than 25 a day. And the begining of the next month it dropped to less than 12.
How is this possible? Would you like to hide your email address on your Home Page or Web Site or even on the newsgroups?
Go to my Freeware page and download HIDE_HTM.EXE then you can do it too. This is a simple DOS program so it CAN'T change your registery or put spies in your system or anything else.
I have modified each picture with a little info about that picture. Thanks for reading this. Because you have stuck with me, reading this, I have a little secret that I will share with you, many of you already know it but if you don't, here it is.
As you see all of the pictures are HTML files and if you do a [alt-F][A] to save the picture to your computer all you get is a 1 to 2 K HTML file. NOT the picture you wanted, or if you saved the complete web page you will get the picture in a new directory.
To save the picture to your computer all you need to do is 'right click' on the picture then 'save picture as', and the save file dialog box opens. This works for all the sites I have visited but someone, somewhere, sometime will find a lock to prevent you from using this 'trick', but I will not try to lock my site. If the lock is made a part of the browser I will post the JPG files as I want you to be able to copy the files to your computer to enjoy them.
If you have any problem viewing any page or saving any photo Tell me what you were trying to do and I'll try to fix it and get back to you within a few days.
This has nothing to do with The PRR or Steam engines...
